2008 Most Endangered Battlefields

The Civil War Preservation Trust has released its annual report listing the
10 most endangered historic battlegrounds. Please take a look at the following webpage:

It is truly a shame that so many greedy folks wish to compromise the areas that are truly climacteric to our nation's history. An amusing but sad cliche that my grandfather used to recite:

"...Their whole lives I have seen folks throw away everything, later to realize the importance of it."

I always used to think about this and wonder why people would want to keep everything. Later I realized (having been through the depression) he learned to decipher between the valuable and the indispensable.

It is terrible that greed blinds the persons behind battlefield destruction. Perhaps if they could realize the value of the ground they would see the err of their ways.
