This event is being held on August 16th & 17th. They could use more Confederates for a small scale battle pitting a battalion of Confederates vs. a battalion of Union troops. Nice rolling wooded field with rock out croppings for a tactical like scenario.

Quite a number of Federals turn out. Last year Mifflin Guard and USV turned out a "dandy" Federal battalion. There were no Confederates at last year's event.

Looking down the village's main street you get the feeling you are standing in 1860's Sharpsburg.

The village is up in Weatherly, PA outside Hazelton up in the NE PA. hills.
Website is www.eckleyminers.org. Contact Bill Strassner at wstrassner@state.pa.us for further details. Event date is August 16th & 17th!

In support of Andy, this is a pretty cool place to have a living history weekend. Some of the filming for "Molly Maguires" was done there, it's a typical company town. And the museum on site has a nice uniform from someone in, I think, the 61st PVI, falling apart just enough to see how the piping was constructed on the jacket.

My world should be back on the rails by August, between the USV and the Mifflins somebody will be glad to get another private in the ranks. :-) Looking forward to this.
