Hi,
Can someone tell me how to find the size of the threading for my Euroarms 1853 Enfield rifle?
Thanks a lot.
(p.s. Sorry if there is a thread like this before. I couldn't find any with the search)

I am assuming that you are referring to the threading to the cone for the rifle. If so, the way that I ultimately found out was by taking the cone out and going to a gunsmith (Winchester Sulter) at one of the reenactments and matching it to one of his cones. While talking to him, I learned that the Euroarms Enfields have been made with three different threads for the cones and this was the only sure way of determining which I had.

Thanks. Sorry, though, I accidentally forgot to say it is for the ramrod. I need to get some new cleaning supplies.

If I remember correctly it is 10/32.

Hallo!
Yes, the "current generation" of Euroarms are "American" 10 X 32 threaded.
However, older Euroarms vary all the back to "weird" Metric threads like 5mm X 8.

Guys,
No such luck on the threads on rammers either. A couple of my rifles take 10-32, another will accept the original wipers and another has a mystery thread. I'd suggest taking your ram rod with you when looking for tools that fit.

Mr. Berg:
I'd strongly encourage borrowing or purchasing a thread pitch guage in both Metric and English. Sometimes the threads can be close enough (between Metric & English) to cause problems. Also, when trying to fit up wipers to ramrods, it's sometimes necessary to use a tap or chaser to "chase" the threads of the wiper before inadvertantly stripping the threads of the wiper or the ramrod or both. The pitch guage will let you know which tap (or die) you'll need.

The cleaning attachments are only offered in 8-32 or 10-32 male or female thread sizes. If your musket ramrod has a stud with some odd-ball thread, you cannot use it. You must purchase a range rod with a rotating T-handle and female 10-32 threading for the cleaning accessories.
I have a one piece range rod and a sectional range rod, both with 10-32 female thread for cleaning accessories. I keep the sectional range rod in my Dixie Gun Works range box in case I need to clean the bore between shots. The ramrod on my P53 Enfield rifle musket has 10-32 threads but I only use it for loading minie balls.
