I work at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas. I make clothing in the pioneer style, comfortable clothing that the country folk would have worn. Most of my styles depict the late 1800's, but many styles could represent earlier periods, as well. Right now I have been making men's shirts and vests to get ready for the new season at the Folk Center. We open on April 18th, and I can't wait. I work in the Dress Shop in the Craft Village, and sell my clothing to employees, old time musicians, and visitors. I recently started a web page to offer my clothing to people over the internet. I don't make ball gowns, but have some simple skirts, blouses, aprons, bonnets, girl's clothing, men's shirts, etc.

Oh my. Is there a price tag on her hat?

Do you believe---I found that hat in a 2nd hand shop here in town for about 25 cents. When I saw it my knees went weak! It is an original that I believe dates to the late 1800's. I had to replace the grogain ribbon (which had turned brown from age) and use a black marker to color the stitching--the thread had also turned brown. It is made of black felt. I did add some netting and a red rose (not authentic) for color. I always wear that hat when I dance at the Folk Center, and it has become my trademark.:D
