Co. B, 4th Ala. 1st Corp. ANV is accepting applications for men of good characther. Our unit was one of the origional companies of the Alabama Volunteer Corps. We operate out of Gadsden in NE Alabama and do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethenic origin, etc. however one must be at least 16 to carry arms on the field. We are affiliated with the Alabama Division, and as such members have liability insurance, medical payments insurance and we also get tax breaks!!!

Governor A B Moore issued commissions to Capt B B Smith and his officers on Jan 1, 1861. This company served with the 2nd Alabama Volunteer Militia Regiment at Pensacola FL, from Jan 7, 1861, until Feb 14, 1861.

Company reorganized for Confederate service and left Tuskegee on Apr 28, 1861.
