Civilian reenacting - a beginner in Northumberland County, PA

Hello everyone! I have wanted to reenact for years now but it always seemed like something stood in the way. This year, I am determined to get started. I love history and have read a great deal of literature on the Civil War. I can sew and love to learn new things. After some research, I still haven't come across a group of reenactors in my area, but I'm sure there must be some.

If any of you are from around here and could use another officer's daughter or army nurse or what have you, please get back with me, or with any advice or information any of you would have for someone starting out. Are there any upcoming events near me?

Welcome. As far as civilian units are concerned in your area there are a few good ones to consider. Maybe think outside of the box away from, officers daughter or army nurse. A host of impressions are endless. Check out some links.
