I know we still have little less than a week till the 25th, but i would like to get a thread started now so guys and gals on here can express their feeling with the special day. Like if you are going anywhere new this year for the holliday or other cool facts.
This christmas my parents and I are making the trip down to Georgia. My mom has her family down there, and we all thought it would be cool to spend the special holliday with her side for a change. This would be my first time away from home for x-mas, and i am very excited.
I hope this thread goes somewhere, not just me talking.
thanks everyone and have a happy holliday!

An Uncle and Aunt have been hosting a family gathering for more than 50 consecutive years. We'll sing Christmas carols, have a nice dinner and play sheepshead. Wouldn't miss it for the world.

I'm in Latvia for christmas this year, so I admit I'm not as excited as I might otherwise be. On the upside, this evening is the Chrismas Dance at school, which my class has put together and it promises to be great. The boys went outside yesterday and cut four or five small trees and the girls decorated them, and we made hundreds of paper snowflakes (the girls did, anyway, as well as sending a stack of paper home with any boy whose sisters might be persuaded to help out.)
So the season is fun- as for the day itself, well... I'll make the best of it.
Priecīgus Ziemassvētkus, jums!
I used to date a Latvian woman. Love the high cheek bones. :)

Amen to that one Dave! Ill second that one.
I think my best Christmas ever was 2004, at Camp Liberty, Baghdad. Really put things on a different footing, since we weren't surrounded by the commercialism. We had a Christmas party for our company, and invited another Engineer company that had just arrived. We had a annonomous gift exchange, and we made sure that everyone of those guys and girls had something under the tree. They were all in tears. Best feeling I ever had at Christmas.
To our guys and gals, Thanks for your service.. be safe, come home in one piece, and know that your friends, families, and your extended reenacting family will keep you in thier thoughts and prayers this Christmas.
THIS WE'LL DEFEND!
FIRST CAV, America's First Team.... HOOOAH!

I've helped with the bell ringing at wallyworld and I'm going to do it more this weekend. I've really enjoyed doing it in uniform and I think it's helped get peoples attention more than the bell. ha I saluted a couple of the real soldiers that came in. I think they got a kick out of it. Here's to all of you over there and to your loved ones. I reenact to honor you all too. Also, if everyone gets a chance read your bible or at least watch the Snoopy Christmas show. That way we don't forget what it's all about. Merry Christmas to all of you.
