I just finished 5 Federal Oil Blankets and 2 Confederate Oil Blankets. Total price which includes shipping is $55. The Federal Oil Blanket is an example of the Schuylkill Arsenal and is featured on page 215 of Echoes of Glory. The Confederate Oil Blanket is constructed the same as the Federal with the exception of raw edges and hand sewn grommets. Both are made of the correct widths of 8 oz cotton duck. Go to:

to view part of the process and to view the Federal Blanket. They are soft, flexible, and waterproofed. Each step includes linseed oil with the final coat 100 percent linseed oil.

Gentlemen, I just recieved my confederate painted cloth today, and I have to say it looks just great. If you are looking for a great (and very useful) item to add to your "accurite/authentic" Confederate impression, do yourself a favor and pick up one of Claude's ground cloths.
