Hello,
As I was browsing the website of the Horse Soldier I came across a jacket listed in their catalog as being from a Louisiana Soldier. The site is: http://www.horsesoldier.com/catalog/c0052.html
The item is listed as "CS LOUISIANA ENLISTEDMAN'S SHELL JACKET WITH ORIGINAL CORPORAL CHEVRONS, ACCOMPANIED BY A CS SHAKO"
The Jacket looks an awful lot like a Richmond Depot "type I". One interesting thing noted on the site about the jacket is that it is trimmed around the top of the collar, down the front, on the edge of the shoulder straps, and on the cuffs with dark green worsted tape. I have never heard of Green tape being used on CS clothing articles. Maybe those of you with a better knowledge of the subject could put in a few of your comments or ideas on that subject.
