I am reposting this item for sale, as the trade fell through:

I cannot take any better pictures, as the camera I used is the only one I have available for use, and it is a 12 mp camera (albeit a cheap one at that). It does not appear to have any rifling. We bought this rifle at a local gun shop, and the man we bought it from claimed he got it from an estate auction. There does not appear to have any arsenal repairs made to the stock. The ramrod that it currently has appears to be a black smithed version of the originally issued rammer (maybe the head fell off). We cannot remove the nipple, as it appears to have some rust. The action works beautifully ecept for 1st cock, it appears that the safety mechanism has worn out. Also the rifle does not have sling swivels and sling. The barrel is 39" and all of the bands are not only there, but in great condition. I really wish I could take more detailed pictures with my camera, but it is unfortunate that I cannot. If you live close by, we would be more than happy to show it to you. We are located in Ft. Wayne, In.

MORE ON THE ORIGINAL:

There are no serial numbers on the bottom of the musket. The musket barrel matches the receiver, both numbered 910. The musket barrel and the receiver aligned, the factory notch on both is noticeable. The musket has several inspectors marks on the bottom of the barrel. They are:

1) J. TURND (perhaps the first letter -J- might be an L)
2) T. ROURND (The first letter might not be a T andthe last letter apparently is a D)
3) WC on the barrel.

The musket barrel on the top is stamped twice with an inspector's marking: 25. It has two other stamps next to the 25s. I am a WWII enfield enthusiast and they look similar to proof of firing and passing stamps; however, the meaning is a guess.

FINAL REDUCTION: $650

wsjax4: my husband is currently taking the photos as we speak, they will be up with the Original Musket's Pictures soon.

Thanks,

Ashley Montalvo
