Is there anything even close to a Civil War related horror movie?

The Killing Box (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107319/), with a cameo by none other than Martin Sheen, once again playing a general.

i dont remember the name of it, but it was about a kid and his brother who were reenactors who mess up on a mass burial site of confederates, they all come back as zombies and u can probaly guess the rest. it came out in the 80's, not a bad movie. check imdb.com, they have a boot-load of resources.

Was it The Supernaturals?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092030/

"...Nichelle Nichols is an army sergeant who leads her platoon into the woods of the deep south on a training exercise. Unfortunately, it is the site where a bunch of yankee soldiers murdered a town of confederates. The corpses of the dead soldiers rise up to wreak revenge. .."

Not Horror but scarey!!

The Beguiled (1971)
"During the civil war, injured Yankee soldier, John McBurney is rescued on the verge of death by a teenage girl from a southern boarding school. She manages to get him back to the school, and at first the all-female staff and pupils are scared. As he starts to recover, one by one he charms them and the atmosphere becomes filled with jealousy and deceit."

Not historical but has elements of Zulu...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280609/
Dog Soldiers (2002)

"A British Squad is sent on a training mission in the Highlands of Scotland against Special Operations squad. Ignoring the childish "campfire" stories heard about the area, they continue with their mission and come across the bloody remains of the Special Ops Squad, and a fierce howling is pitching the night sky... With two mortally wounded men, they make an escape, running into a zoologist by the name of Megan - who knows exactly what hunts them. What began as what they thought was a training mission turns into a battle for their lives against the most unlikely enemies they would have expected - werewolves."

It has Kevin McKidd from HBO's ROME

the problem with "Grey Knight" was they made it into a Civil War film. The original legend was set in the Revolutionary War period. Not to disagree, it was a BADDDDD film. But knowing the background helps.

Just finished watching DEAD BIRDS. A couple of good scares with a haunted house and a ...cornfield. Clothing not too bad.

Not for small kids. A lot of "potty talk" and implied cruelty to children and animals.

Eric

It was originally called "The Ghost Brigade" and I somehow happened on a free copy - almost worth it at that price.

Gods and Generals ranks it in rankness though. The horror did not stop on the screen though - a guy could hurt by the mid movie stampede out of the theatre...

In case anyone's interested, I showed the movie "Dead Birds" today. It's a really really good movie! Even if it wasn't civil war related, it'd be a good movie. Too bad it isn't more popular.

Jerry,
Some movies become "cult" classics by this kind of word of mouth support. I enjoyed it. The black actress was Donna Biscoe, a veteran of another horror movie Frankenfish.

Sleepy Hollow moves South.
