Question about a specific event in Gettysburg 1862

Okay, all,

I have a question to ask. The location (in Gettysburg): Sheetz at the corner of Baltimore and Steinwehr, right across from the Holiday Inn and the Jenny Wade house.

Did any hangings of soldiers take place in that location? If so, please tell me where to find more information.

I have never heard anything like that, though that does not mean it is not true. I would welcome learning such information.

The Wagon Hotel was located in that area and was an inn often used by teamsters.

You may wish to post an inquiry at the Gettysburg Discussion Group, www.gdg.org or www.militaryhistoryonline.com. Many authors and Licensed Battlefield Guides frequent those sites and may be able to confirm or refute the story.
