Would be interested in how this turns out....I had a GGG Uncle out of the Rome NY Area (specifically Annisville, Taberg Township) who served in the 146th. 4th Onondoga Regiment?

Finding a truly authentic 146th New York uniform is an endeavor in itself! Surviving examples were produced by the Schuylkill Arsenal, meaning COMPLETELY handsewn. Plus all the intricate designs associated. You'd most likely have to find someone to do custom work. Expect to pay several hundred dollars for a complete set. But as an aside, don't be scared! These uniforms are beau-ti-ful!

Matt Caldwell made one I wore. His user profile on the A.C. is:

Ryan Weddle also might have another kit:

Oh, and I almost forgot. For only $108,000 you could have gotten an original:

Good luck,

Thanks for all the info, fellers!

I had a GGG Uncle out of the Rome NY Area (specifically Annisville, Taberg Township) who served in the 146th. 4th Onondoga Regiment? Actually, they were the 5th Onieda.

These uniforms are beau-ti-ful! You got that right. The combination of light blue, red and yellow make it the most visually pleasing zouave uniform. Plus, they were a darn good regiment, too. :D

Didn't see that the eBay uniform had already sold -- for $108,000.

Next question -- who makes a proper 165th NY zoo zoo suit? I need the trowsers and leggings.

Regards,
Paul

Matt Williamson makes them. All of his work is custom, very high quality, and very authentic. He's one of the old school campaigners. If you want, PM me and I'll dig up his email.
