Looking for pictures

I am looking for a good source of pictures of Confederate soldiers, specifically Alabama soldiers. I am interested in Internet sites, books, whatever. I bought a copy of Echoes of Glory printed in 1991 because I was told it was the bible of Civil War reference. I didn't find it very helpful as I am not looking for pictures of generals. I am looking for pics of junior officers. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

An Illustrated Hisory of the Civil War by William J. Miller and Brian C. Pohanka has a lot of good images of everyday soldiers; however not specifically Alabama men. The photo's are good though there is complaits of typos in the book.

Try searching on Google using the Images and the Books sections. You can do acvanced searches which help you narrow your hits using specific keywords. Google books may cough up regimental histories available to download online, or it will reveal recent titles which have limited viewing, but will lead you to information on how to purchase them.

Worldcat online is the online library catalogue. Look up what you need, see if it's at your local library. If the answer is no, attach yourself to the librarian leech-style until they put in a request through interlibrary loan.

Hit the Alabama local, county, state and National Archives.
