Does anyone know a place (website, newspaper, Etc.) where they show information for every reenactment in the state of Michigan or surrounding state? I'm tired of becomming members of all of these Yahoo groups and such and still missing some that were only 20 minutes away!

Civil War Historian, Civil War News, Camp Chase Gazette, Citizens' Companion have several pages devoted to event announcements for this year, and sometimes next year. Often they are arranged by state. I am guessing this same info might be on their websites. I've never looked myself.

The AC Forum also has a section for the bees to dance the upcoming event buzz. I think there is one right here on the CW Reenactor's forum. The Common Ground forum, too, would be remiss if it did not have one.

Don't forget the Gossip Network. Subscriptions are not free. You have to give in order to get.

That ought to get you started.

Great site, Cris! Though it does also have A LOT of civilian dances and other non-military stuff (which only reminds me of how hard it is to find a girl my age who likes history that much :( ) There is still plenty o' militaria reenactments. Thanks a lot!

Speaking of Michigan, how did your event in Marshall 'go' this year?

Rj:
We got rained out on sun. Bad weather both days.
Saturday hotter than heck. I belong to the civilian group that puts the event on (joined them this past winter) so most things were in place already. We had over 200+ troops registered but ended up with only 50 or so due to the above.
Sunday ended up with the federals dividing into 2 groups and having an impromto tactical in the rain.
IMHO I believe it is being held on the wrong weekend in June Graduation really hits us hard that weekend.
Nothing like visting the local Tavern in period clothes on saturday night and watching the local graduating class walk down mainstreet. :)
The military sutler didn't show his truck blew up on the way. Just not one of the more pleasent events thsi year. Seemed like what could go wrong did.

Sorry to hear about the non controllable factors. I hear you on the Graduation weekend.....our high school is now Memorial Day Weekend.....but it's a craps shoot on the rest of them.....

I hear Hastings is back up??? We always had fun there.
