Good day all!

Where can I find a good resource to show me how to mimic an appropriate 1860s hair style? Anything would be helpful. If there are step by step instructions that would be even better. TIA!

Julie

I know this is a post WAY later than you probably would have liked but it helps me sometimes. Also... The book Civil War Ladies: Fashions and Needle-Arts of the Early 1860's. There are several prime examples of lovely hair styles of the era.

Julie, what hair are you starting with? I know the process of accomplishing mid-century hair for me now (short layers) is different than it was six months ago (all one length hair, below shoulders, no bangs).
