Dear All,
I was just wondering a little something. Has anyone bought a tarred federal haversack from The regimental quartermaster and noticed on the insdie a name called JT phillips. My question is this the original maker's name or the presentday maker's name? Thanks.

Aaron,

Hello!

I don’t have your answer as to the original maker or modern day producer; however, I bought a federal haversack from The Regimental Quartermaster last May when I was in Gettysburg. I was impressed with the quality, so I bought one. The one I bought does not have any markings.

I believe they use different vendors as their equipment and uniform suppliers. This would account for why some haversacks have markings and others do not at the RQ.

Hmmm sound's interesting on the different vendor's. Then again I bought mine online.:D The marking's I found were in top of the the muslin bag.

It is the modern day makers name.
