I was wondering if anyone here could help a CAS out. I am looking for pictures, sketches, or a detailed description of the rifle sling that the cavalry used. My persona is a post-war soldier turned cowboy.
I don't participate in war reenactment yet but I sure enjoy reading your posts, sounds fun.
Thanks for any help

Here ya go. This particular one is made of buff leather but bridle leather examples were common as well.

Thank you Dave
I spent some time on that web site. I now have a good idea what they look like. I may have to come up with a slightly different buckle and swivel snap but I think I can make one that will be close.
Thanks again

Check S & S Firearms www.ssfirearms.com and Dixie Gun Works www.dixiegun.com, they probably have correct reproductions, or even originals, available.
