This may have been discussed but I needed to make a musket box. Does anyone have dimensions? Also, does it have a board at each end like ammunition boxes to serve as something to get your fingers under? Some other way to help lift it?
Thanks in advance!

I own one and I am very pleased. Its easy to store and you can store your own bayonets. The price is high but once you have one you'll be very pleased with the craftmanship and detail.

Michael,
As I see you signature as a CS unit member, I went to my Morningside reprint of the 1862 CS ordnance manual. In it, I found a plate with several pics of musket packing boxes. It is plate #27. The textual descriptions for the plate is found on page 184-185 of this book. The book is "The Ordnance Manual for the Use of Officers of the Confederate States Army". It was reprinted in 1995 by Morningside and the ISBN # is 0-89029-033-4.
If I may be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me.
Regards,
Will

Comrade,'
It is a nice box, to be sure, and seems to be well made. It is not, however, a historical item, and as such, would be inappropriate for display in a CW setting.
Actual musket/rifle/rifle-musket packing boxes were sized to hold 20 of the beasts, along with bayonets, slings, and tompions and tools. The Ordnance Manual (either federal, or it's CS copy) has the complete details for creating the full-sized accurate box, including such markings and materials as are appropriate.
You will find that the time and expense taken to produce a correct box will be less than that of the finished 1 or 2 musket box referenced at that link, and be of substantially more use.
Respects,
