Greetings;
I own three of these canteens, and am wondering who is selling/making, or if they are available any more. I purchased mine from Orchard Hill about 3 years ago, and they are outstanding as they hold out well through campaigning.
A pard of mine is in the market for a 'smoothside', (and no, mine aren't for sale) and is wondering who is currently making them. Any ideas? or suggestions? I know Orchard Hill did have them, but now they sell the beeswax lined ones, and I'm not sure if this is the same maker they had before.
Thanks to all for your replies.
Kindest Regards;

Not sure about the maker, but I have been very pleased with the wax lined one I got from Orchard Hill earlier this year.

Canteens mentiond are made by Frazier Bros... Gay Frazier is a wonderful person to deal with, or the said suppliers above.. Made from originals I might add as well..
A. Ulrich did mention about beginning hot dipped tin wears in a year or so as well.

:confused: How are reproduction canteens "made from originals?" That would mean they use original parts.
Do you mean copied from originals?

I'm not sure if he is still in business or not, but about 6 years ago I bought a smoothside hot tin dipped canteen from Frank of Levi Ledbetter and it has been the best canteen I ever did own. Back then you could purchase one w/o a cover or strap for $40. Once I got it, the first thing I did to it was add a beeswax liner in it to prevent it from rusting just in case it decided too. Its held up every since.
