Hob Nails

Hi folks,

I'm considering getting hob nails for my brogans. I'm interested to know the pros, and cons. Are they worth the money? Will they hurt flooring indoors? Any advise will be appreciated.

Hobnails are killer on flooring with any kind of finish, try walking on a hard surface. It will remind you of ice skating. If you walk on unfinished wood floors, its not so bad.

As for outdoors, I think they are awesome. Walking through a field that has hard dry soil they help alot.

I have 2 pair of brogans, one with and with out hobnails.

Anthony, yes, in my personal opinion they are worth the extra money as they prolong the life of your shoes considerably. However, yes they will make a mess out of a hardwood floor if you are not careful.
