LIVING HISTORY, July 28 & 29, 2007
Located on beautiful Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in Stroudsburg, PA, (Pocono Mountains).

Both Federals and Confederates with good impressions are invited to this event. The farm museumís own docents and interpreters give good first person presentations to the public; re-enactors must have a good appearance and be willing and able to give decent presentations (not necessarily first person) also. This event has been conducted by a local unit for several years now and the museum management would like to see it grow in both scale and scope.

Some highlights:
Separate Federal and Confederate camps.
We plan some small skirmishing activity, numbers permitting.
There will be ongoing demonstrations or vignettes, in the manner of candlelight tours, but during the day.
We would like to have one full-sized field piece with crew.
All food preparation during the hours the farm is open will be period, prepared in the manner of CW military cooking. In the past, company cooks prepared meals and we will plan on doing so again. Foraging in the gardens may be permitted, depending on what is ready for harvesting.

It you enjoy interacting with the public, sharing your knowledge of the Civil War period with them, and would like to spend some time in a beautiful venue where there is nearly nothing modern to be seen anywhere, then consider this event. If your preference in re-enacting is for lots of shooting action, or relaxing in camp then you might want to pass on this event.

No registration fee, but we need a bona fide commitment from anyone who plans on attending. Regrettably, we can not invite cavalry, and no horses or other animals. The farm has its own livestock and has concerns about animal health.
