I want to purchase a quality carpet bag for my daughter to use.. After quite a few searches on Google, I ahve not located a sutler that would supply one. Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

The best ones out there are made by Family Heirloom Weavers.

One sometimes has to dig a bit deep to find where items are on the Family Heirloom Weavers site, and some links are dead right now. But the wonderful carpet bags are at the bottom of this page---scroll way down

Mine has seen heavy use for about five years now--and by heavy, I mean daily, as it functions as my briefcase/knitting bag/mending bag/airline carryon. It even spent several hours under flood waters several years ago, and emerged none the worse for the trip......though I still get a little river sand out of the seams every once in awhile:rolleyes: . While its certainly NOT the recommended cleaning method, I rinsed the muddy bag out in a horse trough and hung it to dry with no ill effects.

I saw a nice one in E.J. Thomas' tent at Bull Run this past year. You might want to try them.
