My unit acquired one of these rifles several years ago as a loaner for folks to use that were considering joining the hobby. The past season, the cone (nipple) became unremovable using conventional tools and a gunsmith was paid to remove it for us. The thread of the cone is not the same as those on our standard Enfield/Springfield repros. It is some sort of coarse thread, possibly metric. Has anyone out there come across replacements for these odd manufactured Enfields? One of the key characteristics of these rifles is that the rear sight is fixed, not ramped like 1853 Enfields, and square with an interior arc and a notch at the bottom of the arc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

May I suggest you contact the company you purchased the weapon from, more than likely it was the Loyalist Arms Company out of Canada?

Here is a link to their website.

I have the same firearm. A friend gave me a spare nipple and I believe he got it at the Log Cabin Shop. Unfortunately I don't know which thread is the correct one. If you contact them they may be able to help you. I have never found a nipple that will fit at a reenactment.

I've had this firearm since long before Loyalist Arms came along, so I doubt it came from them.

Here is the web site:

If you find out which is the correct one I'd like to know as well, just in case for the future.

Good luck!

On the NSSA board, there is a member offering cones of [almost] any size. You could shoot him an email.
