Dale1stMD:

I spoke with the Site Manager of the Ellicott City Station (Jen Ruffner) and was told that the 1st MD would be there only on the 25th. It sounds like the 24th has been taken by the Brady's Michigan Sharp Shooters (BMSS). It sounds like the BMSS will havve 10-12 people in attendance. This coupled with the 1st MD at the site on the same day would be quite crowded.

Ms. Ruffner said she has been trying to contact the 1st MD about their schedule but has received no reply. Send me a private message and I can forward her email address and telephone number to you.

Good luck with the 25th!

Did you make it to Ellicott City Saturday? I was in attendance with Brady's Michigan Sharp Shooters and had a great time. We seemed to have a good turnout of patrons and many were very interactive, asking lots of questions! That always makes the day go by quickly.

Please thank all those from the 1st who were in attendance. They helped to make the day even more enjoyable. Working with Captain Wilson is always enjoyable.

Hope to meet up with the 1st again sometime soon!

The 1st Maryland Volunteer Infantry, U.S. will be holding a Civil War living history weekend at Fort McHenry in Baltimore Maryland on April 21/22, 2007.

Recruits interested in joining the 1st Maryland, or wanting to check us out, are welcome to spend a day or the weekend with us.

In May 1861, Union officials began arresting Marylanders suspected of being southern sympathizers, holding many of them at Fort McHenry. Many were never charged with crimes and never received trials. The fort also served as a Union transfer prison camp for Confederate prisoners of war.
