Does anyone know where I can find a well documented pattern for a civilian sack coat, I have the fabric I just need to pattern.

Thanks

Unfortunately there really isn't a good civilian sack coat pattern on the market. The Homespun pattern leaves alot to be desired, and if you do use that pattern, I would definitely do a muslin make up of the coat before you use your good cloth. The sizes of the patterns are, in my experience, way off and the sleeves, etc. do not work out well. Again, there isn't a good one out there. An option is to get a quality military sack pattern (County Cloth), and modify its collar to be a lapel collar and add some pockets.

Have you worked with the period impressions pattern?

Thanks for the tip

I haven't worked with the Period Impressions pattern...I've never heard it recommended, however.
