Is it lined with anything? Keep it soaked in water for a day or two and the wood will expand to where it stops the leaking. Make sure you keep it filled between events and switch the water out every week or so.

You can also put in a little StarSan to keep the water fresh and kill anything bad.
Like the man said, keep it full of water all the time.

Is it leaking from the joints or has it cracked somewhere or has the wood come apart due to an issue with the bands? Unfortunately if it has cracked or come apart in some way there may not be much you can do. With a wooden canteen, once it has been wet and swollen, it must stay wet (inside) or nasty things can happen. bear in mind you simply can not fill it once and forget it, the water level will drop as it sits, I check mine every couple of weeks and about once a month refill it with fresh water. It should also have a coat of linseed oil applied to the outside periodically as well.

Get a bucket, submerge the canteen...for a day or two.
