View Full Version : Original Mississippi Saber Bayonet for Colt Conversion

After much thought I want to offer up an 1861 marked Collins and Company Saber Bayonet that was made for the Colt Conversion 1841 Mississippi.
It is stamped 1861 on the blade, with the serial number on the brass handle.
It is in great shape and functions fine- the locking mechanics are great.
It has the 25.5 inch blade that all of this model have.
Offering it for $325 plus shipping.

Yes, I agree with Curt! Photos would go a long way in helping to properly identify this bayonet and which variation and/or alteration it may have been intended for. Photos that would focus on the bayonet lug side of the hilt. A measurement of the muzzle end of bore of the hilt would also help.

I was unable to enlarge these images.
However, I was able to see what I neded to know in the second photo.
I am sure Curt will see this also. I will leave the two of you to work out whatever you wish to do.
BTW, from what I can see of the photos, Really nice bayo.
