View Full Version : Cavalry Picket ropes

Hey Guys, I recently acquired a large spool of hemp or sisal (not sure which it is right now) 3/4 and 7/8 rope. I am going to be cutting it into 50 or 100 foot pickets lines for the rest of you cavalry types. I am not sure exactly what the price would be but I am just looking to see what interest there is in them.

3/4 hemp line makes a real good lead line also. If you do have hemp and not sisal I would be interested in some.

I'd definitely be interested

If it's hemp, I'm interested.
One reenactor's picket line is another reenactor's barrier rope to keep little darlins out of the dyepots.

Ditto...I'd take a hemp one or two in a heartbeat.

I have found out what I have is Manila rope, which is also a period rope. I am thinking $30 plus actual shipping for a 50 foot length. If you are interested please contact me at email@example.com

All of the 3/4 rope has been sold. I still have some of the 7/8" x 50' left. Asking $35 plus actual shipping. Here are some images of the rope.

Price dropped to $25 plus $15 for shipping. I mostly just want to get rid of the rest of the stuff. I have 250 feet left. If anyone wants lengths different then fifty feet just let me know, I'll cut it a different length.

I just received my 7/8" rope. It is much more supple than I expected and will be easy to tie. Even though I'm not a horse person, I think it will be outstanding as a picket rope.
