The 1st North Carolina Volunteers/ 11th North Carolina troops are hosting the annual Battle of Fort Branch re-enactment. The event will be held November 4-6 and is great way to close out the campaigning year. All branches are invited to attend, but a bounty is being offered for the boys in blue with at least 10 rifles. Highlights of the event include a non-spectator tactical on a very spacious array of land, 2 spectator battles, and a the rare oppurtunity to visit a real original Confederate earthwork fort. The site has a very nice musem with all of the Forts orignal artilery. A meal will be provided by the commissary of the 11th consisting of Southern style bbq with all of the trimmings!
