Which Cavalry Saber help?

I'm looking for a new saber. I bought the budget one on ebay for $44.00 but my blade's already bent just from stabbing a hay bale. However I don't have $300-$700 to spend one another saber. I saw the cold steel saber but I'm not sure. What would all you guys recomend? Thank you all, Chris Clark.

I'm just a beginner myself, so I can't really offer any opinions as to authenticity, but the Cold Steel sabre does look nice. Good video on the website too!

Let me do some checking. I think I know of someone who has access to Nashville Plow Works Repros that are very nice for the $150 area. Can anyone out there verify this? I will contact my guy for more info. Also what type of saber are you looking for?

Also in the cheap department. I got a 1860 Cav. from Blockade Runner on their clerance stuff for like $50 and abused the thing and it has not let me down. Indian made nothing special but it is holding up pretty well.

I too suffered from the cheapo sword syndrome until I found this seller on eBay. I bought a quality Kenansville sword from him a while back and am impressed with his quality. High quality blade material and no import markings. Since my purchase another officer in my battalion bought a different model sword and is just as impressed. Others have spoke of the quality swords he sells. The eBay link is below for his store. Just type "sword" into his store site and I am sure that the model you are looking for is listed - I just checked. Reasonably priced, too.

The Cold Steel saber while having a tempered blade does accurately represent either the 1860 nor the 1840 and with a $370 price tag it is outrageous. For $400 and with a bit of luck, an original M1840 can be had with no doubts about the quality, temper or authenticity of the weapon. All of the other sabers with the possible exception of this COld Steel weapon are not weapons, rather ornaments not meant for use in the field. It is sad but there no good quality reproductions available.
