Hi All...as I can't post in certain areas and time is running out,(as I have an event in Boonsville, MO in mid June, I felt posting here would make a little sense(I hope).
Recently, I found out that the bayonet I purchased years ago(repro) for my 1842 Musket in not really correct. Back then there were no repro bayonets so to "fill the gap", someone made what looks to me, a Brown Bess and cut the shaft to fit the 42. (First clue, no lock ring, second clue...1 1/4 inch width on bottom of blade near shaft, ( so, I need to find a repro or a reasonably priced original fror the event. The former might make a good candle holder...maybe. So, if anyone has one or knows of one, please give me a shout either here or thru email: mboyd05@attglobal.net

Thank you, Mike Boyd

Friends, Mr. Boyd is referring to the fact that new users cannot post in the "Classifieds" until they have a certain number of posts. We've put this in place with the new software, in order to somewhat mitigate the problem we've had lately with new users selling high ticket items and disappearing. Right now we cannot differentiate between 'sales' and 'wanted to buy'---hence, Mr. Boyd's post here. ........Mrs. Lawson, Moderator

The trouble with bayonets is that you just about need to try them on the weapon to be sure they fit. That goes for originals, as well as repros.

Tim Price told me that original bayonets fit the Armisport ereproduction, and at $175 for a repro, I'd rather find an original, Mike Boyd
