Does any one have any experience with these patterns? Are they accurate? I was considering making my self one from some a Ben Tart jean and an appropriate French blue kersey from a vendor yet to be determined. It was supposedly taken by measurement from an original. My other choice is a County Cloth kit. Mr Childs has a great reputation. I was just wondering about Galla Rock.
Also, I would love suggestions from those who know as to their opinion of which jean, regardless of who's, you feel is the most accurate. I refer to color and weave.

Gregg,
I can only speak to the Richmond Depot pattern they have and I found it not to be very good. I don't think it was drafted very well. They show pictures of the original it is "based on" but I don't think it is an accurate patterns as far as drafting.
Just my two cents.

Gregg,
Galla Rock has a good reputation, or at least no worse than anyone else. I have a CD jacket made from that pattern and, without an original to compare it to I can't say if it's "perfect" or not. What I can say is I know of two units who use that pattern exclusively and have sewn up numerous coats from it. In fact, their seamstress is going to make another one for me using all my jean wool scraps. Should be interesting!
As has already been mentioned, their other patterns are pretty good...why wouldn't this one be?

Buy the Childs pattern.
Nothing worse than fudging a slightly incorrect pattern. For a few extra bucks you get more than your moneys worth

I asked about patterns a few months a go and got some good responses. Hope this link helps.
