The Potomac Legion will provide one federal battalion at Shenandoah 1862 in June. From our website:

"On June 2-4, 2006, the Potomac Legion will portray the German 8th New York Infantry Regiment at Shenandoah 1862. This preservation march and reenactment will feature battle recreations on the original ground and an eight mile march. The 8th New York will be one of three Federal Battalions at Shenandoah 1862 in a brigade commanded by Bill Watson.

This website is designed to provide information valuable to those who will join us at Shenandoah 1862. Links on this site will provide details on the historical 8th New York, uniform and equipment standards, the reenactment order of battle and expectations of the battalion command staff.

While the Legion recognizes that there will be anachronistic features in some areas at Shenandoah 1862, our battalion will avoid these things. The 8th New York will maintain a high level of authenticity throughout the event. Uniform, equipment and impression standards will be high and will be maintained throughout the event. The event standards are a base upon which our stricter standards will be built."
