Best and cheapest don't necessarily belong in the same sentance, particularly when talking about cast metals, but I know that lately there has been a void in that kind of hardware on the market. Military Warehouse is a wholesaler of some of the better hardware out there, but they don't sell to the public, only sutlers and vendors. Last I heard they were on backorder. Check with Fall Creek and Regimental Quartermaster, as they had some last time I was in the market.

There is not really a "Cheap source" for this perticular hardware set, we have ours cast in the U.S. but most seem to come from "over there, by golly gosh" if you know what I mean... and they seem to get it close compared to our originals. how many sets are you looking for Conley? Cheers! Paul Lopes

how many sets are you looking for Conley?Paul, I only make things for my self so 2 sets would be good for me. But, there are people looking to make the knapsacks, so the post is for my self and them as to save same time in tracking them down. I have the skill and experience to cast them my self, but for 2 sets, cheaper just to to buy - regards , Conley

Hanover Brass was the "go-to" source when I needed to replace one of the hooks on my knapsack a few years ago.

Jim Parseley makes excellent cast brass plates and buttons. Not sure if he does any I&C knapsack hardware, but you may want to give him a call or email he may be game.

Good luck
