I have a new gig that some on here might appreciate.

It might be a job or it might be another hobby, we'll see. I write about history in this part of Pennsylvania for examiner.com. It is, ironically enough, exactly the paradigm I espoused while editor of a newspaper. Some people get it, some people don't.

I know this particular story will get some hits from the folks on this forum. It explains why there's a Confederate on the soldiers and sailors monument in downtown Allentown Pa. :o

Bill,

Noticed the staute and the inscription which tells it all a number of years ago in old steel city.

It's pretty neat. I first saw it at the rededication in 1999 and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I'm glad I got a chance to check old records and find out what the town really did have in mind.

"One flag One Country" Sure...you shouldn't have to have Dan Brown sitting in your front yard decoding your flag to passers by.
