Guys,

The Yankee Hirelings and the Cornfeds will be switching camps this year. This will give the participants the opportunity to see the event and the battle scenarios from a different perspective.

Please get your registrations in ASAP. We really need the money! :)

Thank god I hate the spot we're in. I always end up under a walnut tree with my tent getting bombed throughout the night by falling walnuts. Maybe now I'll actually be able to sleep.

Also do you know if they'll be straw? I meant to ask Dave and Maury when I was there working and you guys were having your meeting. I ended up forgetting to ask though.

Rick,

Last year my tent got hit by a falling branch. I'll take a few walnuts every time!

There is always straw available. The Colonial Plantation keeps it on site for the critters. We will sell it for what ever the replacement cost might be.

I know we have a ton of straw up in that barn from working there. I wasn't sure if we would be able to use it or not. That's weird I don't remember hearing about a branch falling on your tent last year. I do remember it rained pretty much non stop though that weekend and a lot of groups pulled out. Hopefully that won't happen again this year.

If life gives you walnuts...

:D I do recall someone cooking groundhog last year. Let's not repeat that.

We just cut a large stock of firewood. Get your registration in now if you haven't registered. The colonial plantation offers a unique experience being nestled in the creek valley with very little modernisms in sight.

Guys,

Ridley Creek is still accepting mail-in registrations. If you are waiting for the Weather Channel report before deciding to attend, the walk-on fee is only $8.00 dollars.

Bill and Andy, it looks like the weather's going to be great!

Just a couple of questions: any particular time of war we're portraying? And will there be any sutlers?

I realize I could have just e-mailed, but hope you don't mind the bump :)

Schnapps,

A mid-War Eastern Theatre impression would be perfect. The scenarios will be small unit actions fought around a Southern Plantation. There will be three scenarios, one with the Federals on defense, one with the Confederates on defense, and a meeting engagement.

I don't believe there will be any sutlers on site this year.

I was going to ask the same thing. I was wondering if Regimental Quatermaster was coming down this year. What times are the battles again. I know the first is 11 on Sat then what about the Sat afternoon battle and Sunday battle?

There will be two battle scenarios on Saturday, the first at 12:00 Noon and the second at 4:00 PM. There will be one battle scenario on Sunday, at 2:00 PM. You can download the schedule for the event at: www.colonialplantation.org

Ely,

I far as I know there will be no Gatling Guns on site. :)
