I bought some of Robin Stokes Reprints of rare knitting books (like the ones she has on ebay (just like 'em actually)).

They are great little books but not quite what i was looking for.

I paid $10 per book and that included shipping so I am offering them to any of you all at that same price.

MRS GAUGAIN's KNIT POLKA BOOK. Originally Publish in London 1847...this is a reprint by Robin Stokes 2006. It Contains patterns and pictures or several different polkas or sweaters: knit polish overall pelisse for a child, Knit frock for a child, polka jacket for a lady, Girl's polish pelisse, knit polka head dress

THE LADY'S DICTIONARY OF NEEDLEWORK. dates to 1856 reprint by Robin Stokes 2006 from inside cover: "I have found it quite handy and hope you will find it just as useful in helping "translate" patterns from ladies publications of the period such as Godey's, Peterson's, and Arthur's Home Magazine....it is still an indispensible too in trying to decode old needlework instructions and identify supplies from United States publications of the time as well. It will make your journey through mid 19th-century needlework much more enjoyable and less of a mystery." Covers Knitting, Crochet, Crochet with beads, Netting, Tatting, Embroidery, beads, Banner and hand screen, and Laces. And that is just what I found at a glance.

THE KNITTING TEACHER'S ASSISTANT 1817...this is a Robin Stokes Reprint 2006. "It is a very, very rare copy of an early 19th century stocking and sock instruction book that was originally published in London 1817. The original purpose of this book was a charitable effort to teach the poor to knit for extra income. I believe it to be one of the earliest printed sock patterns in existence (If not the earliest!!)...."

These books are all very nicely reprint and spiral bound with clear plastic over the covers...I have pictures of all these books also just email arossier@netzero.net for pictures.

Thank you,
