Up for sale is a new Type III Shelter Half (two panel) made by myself.
- approx. 63" x 66"
- Constructed of 7-8 oz Cotton Duck canvas
- machine stitched hem and flat-felled seams (as were the originals)
- hand sewn button holes
- hand sewn grommet holes, using waxed linen thread
- 1/4" hemp rope on the two bottom corners
- top grommets have one 1/4" and one 1/2" (for pole ends)
- Corners reinforced with ticking
- tin buttons (paper backed)
The grommet holes were not cut/punched, they were spread with awls, spikes, etc., leaving as many fibers intact as possible in achieving the diameter desired
$80, shipped USPS Priority Mail.
All proceeds go to the preservation of my unit's flag in the museum of the confederacy, 1st Regiment Kentucky Volunteers, Co E.
(It was the flag on the cover of the MoC's Winter 2010 quarterly magazine).
