Nice videos, but I didn't think it looked very good for people to be carrying around cell phone cameras during the battle. At least one spectator said they saw that... Not the kind of impression I want to make. If you want to do this, invest in a covert camera.

This gentleman was in the color guard of the battalion of which I was a part. I am visible in almost every one of his shots and not once did I notice him or anyone else in the battalion taking pictures. I have got to give kudos to this man for his discreetness. ( is that a word? )

I second this, I am also in pretty much every shot to the right he made and do not recall seeing him record us either.

I believe he was using what I dubbed Hardee Cam - Hardee hat with a hole in the crown for the camera to film out of. Just kidding. But for real, I want to do that next time.

I did see one fellow with a headcam quite late in the Sunday battle, after we had been routed out of the trenches and then reconstituted and reentered the fray through the woods off the Federal left. I don't know if this is the same fellow or not.
The one filming from the CVG color guard did catch another fellow using a phone camera, to his left.
Patrick, "discreetness" appears to be an actual word according to Dictionary.com.

Hi guys and gals, Check out this video

I was there in the brigade that came out of the wood that waited an hour to
attack. I wish we were allowed to storm the trenches. we would have taken them yanks easy as pie.

Yeah, if you'd had a few bulldozers to help!

I was in both battles with the 104th IL. Most of trenches of our two companies were done using at least 4 shovels and dug out using cups and dinner plates. This being the first time I have had to dig in as I fight with the 1st Nebraska. Most our fighting is done in the open or behind something, i.e. fences and hay bales. I had fun and it is amazing how fast you can dig out a trench 1/4 mile, estimated is as little as 45 minutes. Of course it was sand and the 2nd day we had a detail bringing out logs out of the woods. I had fun. I did my GGrandfather proud even though I was fighting as union and not confederate.
I too would like to see some Confederate video footage.
