The 2nd North Carolina Mounted Infantry/14th NC Cavalry is recruiting. Members are generally from western NC, upper SC. We operate primarily as a Federal unit, and galvanize as the 14th NC Woodfin’s Battalion when the opportunity presents itself. Our original regiment was raised in eastern TN, western NC, southern VA and a few from KY and operated primarily in the Appalachian Mountains. Our impression is late-war, formed from volunteers and stragglers from other units, so late war dress and weaponry is reflected in our reactivated regiment.
