Hey everybody. I'm a Pennsylvania boy who just got a job in San Antonio Texas. I'll be moving down there in July. I've wanted to be a reenactor since I was little and now that I'll have some money, I can finally live the dream. If anyone has any information they can give me on units based around San Antonio or the Austin area please let me know. Federal or Confederate. I'm keeping my options open right now.

Thanks in advance.

Howdy, Pennsylvania Boy,

The Alamo Rifles, aka Co. K, 6th Texas Infantry, are based in San Antonio. We have about 30 active members and either drill or attend events every month. Our primary impression is an Army of Tennessee company, and we are a member company of the Red River Battalion. We galvanize once or twice a year as the 165th New York Infantry, the second battalion of Duryea's Zouaves. Please contact me if you would like more information about our group.
We have ample loaner gear for new recruits to use.

Regards,

Phil McBride

The Frontier Bde is in Tx/OK area for Federals in the mainstream/progressive arena, but has some authentics too.

I know a guy there in San Antonio, a USAF COL who is good contact for Federals, especially if you lean authentic.
