Quick question to ya'll.

Is this a correct wool to use when constructing a sack coat?

http://www.bblackandsons.com/navy-flannel-fabric-p-213.html

Has anyone made a sack coat using B. Black and Sons wool flannel?

Thanking you in advance,

Pictures are often very difficult to judge from - that is why swatches are very useful when looking for proper material. Luckily, I've ordered this material before. You didn't mention what type of sack coat, citizen's or military? This material would be an excellent choice for a civilian coat, but not so great for a Federal military fatigue blouse (sack coat). There is a lot of leeway when choosing civilian material, and this material has a nice, tight weave and a good medium heft to it. Federal material, however, was a little lighter, a more visable diagonal twill or weave to it, and was not as tightly woven. You can see alot of light through good Fed flannel. I would recommend Wambaugh, White, and Co for your Federal material needs rather than B. Black in this case. If you're making a civilian coat, you're good to go.

It is for a Federal Sack coat so I'll order from a known source.

Thank you.
