In light of some recent developments, I will have to make a few changes to the event process.

First, you still need to register on the website...

However, the event may charge $5.00 per person. So I am dispensing with the $10.00 registration fee.

You may need to pay $5.00 on site tot he event, and you WILL NEED TO bring your own rations. We did not get a sufficient number to fool with a ration issue on any scale. I may get some slab bacon and coffee from my own pocket for those who show up.

Please get your registrations in ASAP. The march and event scenario is looking very good!

Anyone who has already paid will recieve a refund at the event when they arrive. Anyone who has registered and does not come, will recieve a refund via mail if they choose, or I will donate the money to the battlefield if you like.

Unfortunately, I will not be attending and so there is no commander for Co. D. Of course, Galen may have someone else who will step into the role but if not and you were thinking about joining my company, please give thought to one of the other fellows. I'm sure you would be welcome there.

I will have two attending from NC. I have just finished meeting all of the equipment requirements for myself and diligently working on getting him up to standards.

Anyone with a loaner sack coat and sky blue trousers (coat 42 pants around 34ish) would be greatly appreciated.

Do you think many will arrive Friday evening? I am planning on being there Friday as I have asked my nephew to develop a "fever" at 11am so he can bail on school. I think he would learn much more riding with his uncle for four hours instead of his alternative.

Regarding rations....I am sewing up two "wallets" to carry the required amount of rations for the weekend as we like to carry some of our personal items in our haversacks in addition to the food.

Will we have access to a good supply of water?

I don't think there has been an event that I have looked forward to as much as this event. I have been wanting to do a campaign event, I do plenty alone, with a group for many months. I have always had to haul mainstream stuff for the group or girlfriend and missed most of the fun.

I hope that someone has a sack coat aroubt size 42 for the nephew to borrow as he will be a little out of place in what we have now for him.

Exciting Announcement!

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Robert Szabo, a well known wet plate collodion artist, will be at River's Bridge this year...unless big rain happens, but that is not predicted at this time.

If you are in need of a good image be sure to visit him. Get your pards together and share the cost then draw for the original (copies to all of course).
