Does anyone know of a website where I can get copies of civil war period forms (daily reports, muster sheets...)?
If not, does anyone have images of BLANK forms that can be emailed to me?
I need any type of period form.
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

Obtain a copy of a small book "The Company Clerk" by August V. Kautz. I got mine at an NPS bookstore. It has copies of every form needed at company level and instructions for their use and completion.
You can't copy them from the book easily, but if you are (or know someone who is) handy with Excel, you can fashion a reasonable facsimilie easily enough. I know some forms are available in reprints from Bob Sullivan at Sullivan Press.
Schnapps will be along shortly to tell you more than you ever really wanted to know about "paperwork".

I don't recommend Sullivan press. If things are in stock they are great. If things are on back order you'll never hear from them again.

To second Silas, the following link will take you to a source for a number of popular forms in both Word and pdf formats, as well as some discussion and explanation.

Kautz is the Bible, but it helps to have done it for awhile. Otherwise, he's not always easy to follow.
If you have any specific questions or needs, I may be able to help. You can ask in this thread or e-mail me direct at m.a.schaffner@comcast.net.
It's kind of a hobby within the hobby for me.

Kautz' The Company Clerk is also available at Google Books.

Thanks for including the google books link to Kautz. I'd looked for it several times in the past, but it had not yet been scanned. It's added to my links page.

Jimmy, it also might benefit you to join the Scriveners Mess Yahoo group started by ol' Schnapps there; it contains way more info on clerking than you ever thought you'd need...
