I went to this last year- it was small, but very nice. They took great care of the reenactors.

Dear Members of the Living History & Reenactment Community,
Please mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Ashokan Civil War Days titled "Road to Appomattox: A Soldiers Tribute" to be held on May 22 and 23, 2010 at Ashokan Center, Olive Bridge, NY. The weekend event will commemorate the 145th anniversary of the surrender meeting at McLean House where two great armies finally ended the conflict. In addition to battle scenarios, there will be portrayers of famous generals, hospital/surgical demonstrations, cavalry, artillery, infantry demonstrations, US. Christian Commission exhibit, civilian portrayals, music in camp programs, period dance, blacksmithing, tinsmithing, broom making, wet-plate photography, several book authors and historical artists. Local museums, historical societies, Civil War Roundtables and Sons of Union Veterans chapters are encouraged to attend. Please feel free to share this information. We'll be updating the Ashokan Civil War webpage over the next several weeks to provide additional pe-registration information. Thanks, John.
