Company A, 7th Ohio Cavalry is a Southern California mounted only unit. we are working on building a new stronger union cavalry unit.

Are you a past CW member that left reenacting for one reason or another? (Please join us, we need you're experience).

Are you new to the Civil War hobby that owns a horse wanting to do more than just trail rides? (Shooting and saber fighting off a horses back is something you cannot describe in words, and we will teach you all of that!)

We go to 5 to 6 events a year and try to have monthly training and trail rides.

Families are always welcomed to join us at camp and help in having a great time.

So if you want to wear the uniform of a union cavalry trooper

Spend time with your family doing something fun and exciting

Want to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of the 1860's

Send an email and we will get in started in this exciting hobby.

We are also looking for dismounted members, since there has been some people wanting to join but don't have a horse yet. If you know how to ride and don't have a horse, we have a ranch that will allow us to train and use their horses for events.
I am right now searching for anyone with dismounted leadership skills and wanting to lead a squad or Company C. Since I will mainly be leading Company A the mounted section.

I know a guy in Phoenix who owns a horse and is looking to get into cavalry unit. He has been reenacting for years but can’t seem to find enough interested people in this area. Not sure if the traveling is something he might want to do but would you guys be interested in an Arizona member?

Let me know and I’ll PM his contact info.

Sure if he wants to come to CA. We could also be looking into going to Az sometimes.

Thank you for the lead.

Are you tired of walking in the hot sun? We have horses for you to use and train with. We also have a large training site to do overnight or weekend cavalry training (roughin-it) and best of all you can really have fun!

So what are you waiting for? Look at our website and join the best Union Cavalry here in Southern California.
