I'm contemplating purchasing my own Hardee hat, just a plain one like the borrowed one (thanks Mike!) that I'm wearing in my avatar picture. This would be primarily for western and trans-Mississippi Federal impressions.
How well might a Hardee work for CSA western and trans-Mississippi as well? I really haven't found anything of note in an Internet search for articles and period images.
I do have a very nice Clearwater brown slouch that I've been wearing in Confederate roles (military and civilian both), but I was just curious about the appropriateness of the Hardee.
Interesting. For a couple of years I had been making a transition from military (primarily Confederate) to civilian roles. But now I'm starting to learn that wearing Federal blue is fun when one is with the right fellows (who are mature, knowledgeable, and serious). Now I'm interesting in doing some more military, even at 62.
