Historic Fort Wayne, Detroit Michigan will be hosting the annual Civil War Days event July 10-12.

The Federal battalion will be staying in the original star fort while sleeping in the 1848 limestone barracks.

Many new items have been added this year for your enjoyment. These include an operational period post sutler with chit exchange. Also, there will be a functional postal system between soldiers in the Fort and the civilian population outside.

New interpretive items have been purchased and/or built by dedicated volunteers which include wash tubs and rifle racks.

Other plans are in place to make this an enjoyable and memorable event. The Federal battalion commander, Will Eichler, has heard requests from the men on things they would like to do and he has been planning based off of these welcomed comments.

Come on over to an original Civil War star fort and “Live it where it happened”.

We had our spring drill ( Medich Battalion) up there in may and it's a really cool place, in spite of the fact the wind ruined quite a few tents.
