I live in Nashville and can perhaps point you to a unit you'd be happy with but need a little more info :
Rather die than go blue, rather die than go gray or either is fine ?
Sleep in the open under a dead cow, air mattress on cot in tent the size of Walmart or something in between.
That range is pretty much available.

When I reenacted back in Pa I mainly wore gray, but it wouldnt be a problem to go and buy blue. So either one would be fine with me. As far as sleeping goes being on the ground in the open or in some trees is perfectly fine with me. I dont own a tent the size of walmart and never really intend to either. Im looking for a unit that does it right when its time to and then haves fun in the down time if that makes any sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it ain't too late, I'd like to point you to the 4th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment, Company A. We do events in Middle Tennessee and North Alabama, if you're interested.

The 9th Ky US Infantry is for Nashville and Murfreesboro. They were my old unit till I also moved up North.

Look at the 7th TN, Co. C. too, we operate as dismounted, blue or gray, in mid to west TN and around. Mainstream unit, family oriented but fairly firm in our impression.

Please consider our unit sir. Our unit is 7th Tennessee Cavalry Company B dismounted. We are based out of Jack's Creek, Tennessee under the command of Captain Perry Holder. We have some members from Murfreesboro and ironically, one of them is from Pennsylvania. We are a family oriented unit. Feel free to contact me if you might have any questions. My email address is ForrestEscort@aol.com.

The Indepenedent Rifles are based out of the Franklin/Spring Hill area, but have members in just about every state in the southeast. We are a campaign organization, do both federal and Confederate, and on some opportunities, civilian as well. If we don't fit what you're looking for personality wise, I would suggest the South Union Guards, headed by some good guys from this area and Bowling Green Kentucky. PM me for their information, but mine is:
